With the introduction of the optional CenCom Carbide™ CANport™ CAN Bus interface, Carbide can now interact directly with any supported vehicle’s CAN Bus network. This significantly increases the inputs available to the Carbide system, and opens up a whole new range of functionality for installers and end users.

CANport is a new module built into the Carbide box. It allows installers to plug directly into the vehicle’s OBD-II port, providing access to detailed vehicle system information while leaving the OBD-II port free for maintenance and diagnostic tasks. There’s no splicing or wire-cutting required.

The user interface in Carbide’s latest software upgrade includes eight virtual CANport inputs, including options such as brake, park, driver door, high beam, or speed sensor, which can be combined with additional inputs for a totally customized solution for individual vehicles or an entire fleet. CANport can also be retrofitted to existing Carbide systems.

Current supported vehicles are: 2016 & 2017 Ford Interceptor Utility, 2016 Ford Interceptor Sedan, 2016 Ford F-150, 2016 Chevy Tahoe, and 2016 Dodge Charger.
